The Journey of Holy Week - Family Reflection Video

Seasonal Reflections

Today Jesus holds out His hand to us, asking us to Journey with Him. It’s not a physical journey. Rather the Lord asks us to journey deep into the human heart, far in time and space...

Jesus invites us to walk the Way of the Cross with Him, so as to understand what human life and human history are really about.

It is indeed a journey about love and family, so let’s make sure to get ready to bring along our kids and grandkids!

There are lots of good film and video for Holy Week, for the kids to get to know well how Jesus gave His Life so we can live. Please try to make sure your kids are watching Christian content! Please watch as a family and explain what happened and why - the true meaning of Easter!

Get yourself ready for the journey now. Hopefully you’ve been doing that during Lent, but regardless, now’s time for the final packing. It’s not a matter of packing a suitcase - it’s about gathering your crosses to carry along side as Jesus, embraces, kisses the Cross, and takes upon Himself the sins of the world.

Gather your crosses: TODAY recall especially, ALL THOSE YOU LOVE AND WHOSE PAINS YOU SHARE, ALL YOUR CONCERNS, YOUR FEARS, YOUR DOUBTS AND YOUR SCARS.

We are going with Mary, too – to the foot of the Cross!

Where do we start today? With betrayal! Judas betrays Jesus!

We all know what betrayal feels like. Serious betrayal by one whom we really love is horrible. It cuts deep into the heart and soul.

Jesus responds to the betrayal of Judas with love. He so longs to eat the Passover with his friends - with us!

He washes the feet of disciples with love! As he shares His farewell words He opens the depth of His Heart to them. He gives Himself as food in the Eucharist. His silence before the Sanhedrin is a great cry of love to them.

He takes each whiplash with love. To each thorn in the crown, the blow, each fall, each nail…

Love. RELENTLESS LOVE. This is the journey – and the victory of love, relentless love. Even the greatest sin and death itself melt before His saving, transforming, endless love.

Jesus asks you to come on the journey of the Sacred Triduum, to make the time from Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday a special time of remembering and living His Passion, Death and Resurrection with Him so your brokenness will be healed by this relentless love and so that you will learn it, live it, and give it.

Holy Mother Mary, as we walk with you these days we beseech you, help us to believe as you believed so, in Him, and to love as Jesus loves.
