Unburden Yourself: Family Reflection Video

Unburden Yourself: Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Seasonal Reflections

I have come across many people who give up on God when they go through a crisis in their life. They feel abandoned by Him.

At times, we may feel discouraged like the Israelites. But today, the prophet Isaiah is telling us,

“They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.” Isaiah 40:31

In the gospel, Jesus is inviting us to unburden ourselves on Him.

If you feel your life is burdensome, if you feel your life is heavy, if you’re weighed down, God is inviting us to free ourselves of those burdens. Many times, I have felt less joyful when my ego and pride is hurt, and when I considered myself more important than others. Advent is a time for us to humble ourselves and spend more time in prayer as Jesus did.

Today’s feast is a reminder for us that God always cares for us. He will renew our strength. He will enable us to run and not grow weary. He always wants us to unburden ourselves with childlike trust and confidence.
