We can do it together.
Paul asks today if the others know the Holy Spirit. When he lays hands on them, they are filled with its grace. This passage reminds us that we should live our lives aware of, open to, filled with, and guided by the Spirit of God.
Many teenagers today receive Confirmation and then take on the mindset that they have “graduated” from religious life, no longer needing to pray or attend mass. They don’t let the Spirit guide and transform their lives because the external voices of the media and others sell ways of life that are more attractive than their own conscience.
Family prayer can be the right time and place for us to encourage our children to allow the Spirit to continue to work in them. Help them to resist outside pressures and follow the teachings of Jesus.
How does the Holy Spirit work in your family?
Lord, help us pray together, as one family with you today. Amen!
