What Does It Mean to Be Grown Up? Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity  |  Holy lives of inspiration

We grow in many ways, even when we aren’t in school anymore.

When I was in seminary, and had the chance to talk with kids about school, I used to add up all the years I’d been in the classroom and tell them I was in 25th grade … and still had 4 more years to go! If we look at our spiritual lives, we are always growing, but St. Paul offers a great reminder when he calls out the adults in today’s reading. He wants them to realize they are spiritually immature.

In doing some prayerful reflection, we can ask ourselves where we are in our spiritual lives; if we have grown since making our Confirmation, getting married, entering religious life, raising children, or being ordained? If we are not where we want to be, humbly ask God to lead us closer to him and who we will one day be.

How have you grown spiritually? What changes or events have shaped your growth?

May God bless your families today and allow us to continue growing in faith together.
