Are we living through God or our own ways?
A farmer with three donkeys didn’t have enough rope, so he pretended to tie the third one to a tree in order to make it stay. When it was time to leave, the donkey would not move until the farmer realized he had to pretend to untie the donkey to make it go.
Jesus is displeased with Chorazin and Bethsaida today because they are living in an illusion, like the donkey. What holds them back from following Jesus is the illusory comfort their lives hold. The people have neglected the Word of God to eat, sleep, drink, and do as they please. We must do our best to be listening for what will truly fulfill us.
Do we hear Jesus calling us? What could be holding us back from him?
