Who Are We Called to Share Our Blessings With? Family Reflection Video

Healing the family

Are we serving our brothers and sisters our best every day?

Today’s gospel begins with the familiar verse: “Blessed are the poor….” And continues by offering hope to the hungry, weeping, hated, excluded, insulted and denounced on account of the “Son of Man.” “For your reward will be great in heaven.” But then there is also a message of warning: “Woe to the rich, the full, those in laughter, and who all speak well of …" for you will experience the reversal of these."

We experience a mixture of blessings and burdens both personally and in our families; we need to hear that God is closest when we struggle and most need Him and also that we shouldn’t lose track of Him and our mission in life when we receive earthly rewards such as money, popularity or success … but rather be attentive to the needs of those who do hunger and weep, those who are excluded or are poor materially or in friendship.

Are we serving our brothers and sisters our best every day?
