The scripture ‘Memorial of Saints Timothy and Titus’ explains to us how Saint Paul came to know and love these two men, as if they were his own kin.
Paul received a gift from God and stirred it into a flame. St. Paul gave that gift to Timothy and Titus through the imposition of his hands. We also received that gift at our baptism … the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Similar to the relationship Saint Paul had with Timothy and Titus, parents possess the privilege of being mentors of the faith to young children. How did your parents help plant the seeds of your faith in you? If you are now parents, how are you helping your children’s faith to grow?
Pray the gift of the Holy Spirit be ever present to guide you and your family during your everyday lives.
May we always go out, Lord, and spread the gifts of love, power, and self-control.
