Crown of Life: Family Reflection Video

Crown of Life: Family Reflection Video

Love thy Neighbor  |  Strengthening family unity

Would you stand up for Jesus in the face of betrayal?

While I was visiting home, I found one of those paper crowns kids get with a fast food meal. I was thinking about this as today’s mass is the Feast of Christ the King. The picture Jesus draws for us today is not a pretty one; no paper crowns. The crowns he speaks of are heavy, filled with suffering, and held up by faith.

This crown is the defense of faith; standing in Jesus’s name when the world is against it. Jesus is aware that this crown is heavy to bear and promises those who remain faithful will be rewarded with life in Heaven.

What is weighing on us, what makes the crown heavy to bear? How can we help lift others’ burdens?

Strength fills our prayers today! We are ready to uphold the crown of life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
