Do We Think God is Like Us at Times? Family Reflection Video

Love thy Neighbor

God is not like us, but in some small ways, he might be.

God is not like us when it comes to the faults and shortcomings we are capable of, but there are times when we can identify with Jesus’s point of view. In today’s reading, he answers those who speak to him, but does not engage in friendly conversation, looking to reach the other side of the shore. Even though he seeks to get away, people still catch up with him and a crowd presses in on him- he was probably tired.

A noted religious writer talked about cheap and costly grace, with the cheap response being to follow Jesus on our terms, and the costly response accepts Jesus on his terms.

Are there any character traits in the life of Jesus that are evident in your life? How do you see Jesus in yourself? In others?

Today, let us remember to glorify God with songs of praise and thanksgiving, that we may reflect his good will.
