Family Reflection Video: Escaping the Fowler’s Snare

Family Reflection Video: Escaping the Fowler’s Snare

Thinking about Psalm 124, “Our soul has been rescued like a bird from the fowler’s snare,” reminded me of my playful schemes as an innocent child.

The young children that Herod killed in search of the newborn king, Jesus, became the first martyrs of our faith. We remember and honor them today. Being innocent of sin, their souls were rescued.

Our souls too have been rescued by the birth of Jesus Christ. Sometimes the events and happenings in our life weigh us down … so much so we might forget. If we remember to acknowledge Jesus and allow him to care for us, we will be rescued.

What is weighing you down? What makes you feel trapped and hopeless? What do you want to be rescued from? Acknowledge Jesus and ask him to care for you. He is your Advocate with God, the Father. God is faithful. He forgives. And He cleanses us.

On this Feast of the Holy Innocents, please pray with me for all the children of the world, born and unborn, who are in dangerous circumstances.
