Family Reflection Video: Faith-Filled Women - Then and Now

Family Reflection Video: Faith-Filled Women - Then and Now

service  |  faithfulness  |  Acts

After hearing the story of the apostles' encounter with a woman named Lydia, I began to think of other “Lydia’s” I have met who also opened up their hearts and arms in support of the church. One such instance just happened on Saturday.

We have “Lydia’s” among us right here and their number is legion. The unusual circumstances of my encounters with them cause me to pause and see in them what the apostles saw and met in the faithful women they encountered.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen once said that he was in sales … while God was in management! The sales rep that never leaves the office or picks up the phone to close a deal will not make a living.

By our Baptism, we and all the “Lydia’s” of the world are part of Christ’s sales force. God opens our hearts and we, in turn, open the hearts of others.

Describe to your family what the characteristics are of “a Lydia.” Then ask them if they know one of these special faith-filled women. Who is she and why?

We pray for you and your family each day here at the Father Peyton Center! God bless you.
