We’ve all made mistakes. And we’ve had to deal with the consequences. We’re only human, right? Ever wish you could start over?
When our hearts are opened by Christ, the poor choices of our past do not matter to God. His forgiveness enables us to start over. If we choose to fully receive this forgiveness, we commit ourselves to following God’s will.
When you’re together as a family, talk about how God genuinely cares for each of us and wants the best for us. We’ve probably all experienced times and situations where something has made it difficult to hear Christ’s guiding voice. Talk about these times, the consequences and how God’s forgiveness helped you move forward.
I hope you and your family find comfort and hope in this short prayer:
Lord, listening to you and each other
with the ear of our hearts
is the key to unity in the family.
But we are often deaf to your words of love and joy.
Heal our hearts, O Lord.
