Do you hear the voice calling out to you? The voice that says, I love you … I love you … I love you!
We heard in the reading from Isaiah that we should be comforted, assured that the road we travel will be made smooth. Similar to the gospel story in Matthew about the shepherd who left 99 sheep to search for the one that went missing, God asks us to understand just how far He will go to seek us out, bring us to Him and let us know how deeply He loves us.
This Advent and every Advent, God is calling out to us in a voice that is heard but not always heeded. We might imagine Him gently calling, I love you, I love you, l love you, that’s all I want to say. But until I find a way I will say the only words I know that you will understand.
Gather your loved ones and talk about the encompassing love of God. When have you heard His voice cry out in love for you? How have you responded?
You and your family are in my prayers. Let’s all continue to spread the love and goodness of our Lord. Amen.
Do those lyrics sound familiar to you?! They’re from the Beatle’s hit song titled “Michelle.”
