Family Reflection Video: The Holy Name of Mary

Family Reflection Video: The Holy Name of Mary

The song from the musical West Side Story  got it right when her name was echoed several times … “Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria … all the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word … Say it loud and there’s music playing … Say it soft and it’s almost like praying.”

We have been doing both lately, singing about Mary and praying to her and asking her to pray for us. Today the Church honors Her Most Holy Name.

When you think of Our Blessed Mother, Mary, what qualities come to mind? Are these some of the qualities you also look for in a close friend or companion? When you pray the Hail Mary, do you pause to think about each of the beautiful ways she is described in this prayer?

As we honor the name of Mary today, we ask her to continue praying for us. Holy is her name. We thank God for what He has done for her and is doing for us.
