Think about your impression of God. Does the thought make you nervous and a little anxious? Do you envision God to be frightening and powerful? Is He your best friend, your enemy or missing from your life entirely?
Our God comes as Father, as Son and as food for the soul and the best friend man and woman has ever had or ever will have. He wants to teach us by his total self-giving and total love for us. He wants to feed us with his own Body and Blood so that we learn from him to give our very selves to others so they too can believe and experience eternal life.
One of the great lessons of family life is that parents model behavior for their children. Just as God teaches us by giving no less than himself to us, so we must give no less than our very selves to our children. Think about ways your parents modeled compassion and mercy for you. If you are a parent, reflect on your tremendous responsibility and continuously ask God to help and guide you.
May you and your family be fully alive in Christ! God bless you and thank you for sharing this time with us today.
