Family Reflection Video: Walking with Jesus

saints  |  strength and hope

Have you ever heard the saying that you can’t really understand another person unless you walk a mile in their shoes? Walking in someone else’s shoes is an opportunity to get to know who that person is, what their challenges are, how they think, and what they believe.

How do we know if we are in union with God and a true follower of Jesus? John answers this in today’s first reading. He tells us to walk just as Jesus walked. This means living our lives like Jesus did, especially loving others as he has loved us. If we cannot love, we fall into darkness and lose our way … out of step with Jesus.

Reflect on the lyrics of this popular gospel song, Just A Closer Walk with Thee, a version by Patsy Cline and Willie Nelson, with your families tonight. Do you walk with Jesus? Talk about how this affects your daily life. How can you continue to show others how much you love them?
