Family Reflection Video: When Joy is Interrupted

Family Reflection Video: When Joy is Interrupted

strength and hope

Joyful greetings. Joyful music. Joyful decorations. But what if you’re still having a difficult time being joyful this holiday season?

Even when there’s no joy there can still be the hope that all will be well. God sent us his Son and also gifted us in a unique way with Mary, the mother of Jesus.

In today’s Gospel story, we heard Mary’s cousin Elizabeth say, Who am I that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  Do we allow ourselves to believe that the mother of our Lord could pay us a social visit … merely come to see how we are? Be a friend when we need it most? Think about it.

When you cannot feel the joyful anticipation of Christ, you and your family can ask Mother Mary to visit you. As she did for her cousin Elizabeth, her greeting may touch your soul and infuse you with joy!

I pray for hope and joy for you and your family during this holy Advent and Christmas season.
