Like Paul and Silas, there are those who would welcome an earthquake - something that could break the circumstances that have a hold on them.
For many, that freedom is found in the confessional.
We must not to allow sin to diminish or harm ourselves. As a confessor, I invite penitents to let the Holy Spirit be their escape from whatever prison cell they find themselves to be in. I impart them with words of absolution that tells them it is the Holy Spirit that has lifted the veil that has covered their faces, forgiven their sins and raised their spirits.
In our prayer today, alone or with our families, invite the Holy Spirit to help you or your loved ones to break free from the prisons of self-doubt or pain.
