The things of the past shall not be remembered or come to mind. Instead there shall always be rejoicing and happiness in what He creates.
The readings for today demonstrate God’s creation of a new heaven and earth. God instructs us not to dwell on the worries and woes of the past. Instead He encourages us to embrace the new, loving world which He has gifted us.
Too often we get caught up in the distractions of everyday life that causes us to veer off His path and revert to the ways of the world. What are some ways that you manage to stay on God’s path? Are there times where you find yourself getting off of His track? How do you manage to get back on His path?
As you gather your family for prayer today, offer a special blessing for the children in our world who are sick, living in refugee camps or war-torn countries. Like the father in the Gospel today, mothers and fathers everywhere are in need of prayers for their children.
Remember with the Resurrection of Jesus, the heavens opened for all of us. And at our own death, we will come to know its newness. God bless you and your family.
