Heavenly Treasures: Family Reflection Video

Strengthening family unity

What are heavenly treasures?

Born a prince, St. Aloysius Gonzaga renounced the values of his position and joined the Jesuits, hoping to become a missionary. Instead, he cared for the sick during the plague breakout in Rome, and soon died of the disease himself. His life might not be considered great, but his heart was dedicated, and thus made his work to a treasure.

I heard a story about a stepfather would place notes of affirmation on his stepdaughter’s door each night since middle school, so she would have an encouraging way to start her day. As she prepared to leave for college, the daughter gave him a box full of the notes he had left her over the years, showing he she treasured his encouragement.

We can do so much in our own families, for where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.

How can we encourage our families as our treasures?
