Let it Be Done By Faith: Family Reflection Video

Faith  |  Faith and Family on the Internet

Physical blindness in the scriptures often indicates a spiritual blindness.

This Gospel of the healing of two blind men reminds me of an incident in the life of the Rosary priest, Venerable Patrick Peyton. He was diagnosed with Tuberculosis, a death sentence in those days, 1930’s. One day while being treated in the hospital, Father Peyton was visited by Father Cornelius Hagerty.

Father Hagerty said, "Patrick, you believe in God, you received this faith from your parents. Put it to work. Pray to the mother of God that you will be healed through her intercession, if it is God’s will. He never says “no” to his mother. Remember, Mary will be as good to you as you believe her to be, if you believe she is a 50% that’s what she will be. If you believe her to be a 100%, then that is what she will be. It all depends on you and your faith."

Faith is more than a wish; it is the confident assurance of things hoped for. If we have faith in Mary, how much more powerful is our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!

What is faith to you? How has your faith grown?
