Ordinary, but also Saints: Family Reflection Video

Ordinary, but also Saints: Family Reflection Video

Holy lives of inspiration

“Why is he so popular?”

This weekend, after a beautiful mass in celebration of Venerable Patrick Peyton, some of our visitors accompanied me to his gravesite, where we had a small memorial service. When I paused to open up time for questions and discussion regarding Venerable Patrick Peyton’s life, a young boy rolling around in the grass asked “why is he so important?”

Just like Barnabas and Paul today, Patrick Peyton was an ordinary person who was human like us, but sought to do more with his life by bringing the Word of God to people everywhere. Being ordinary does not prevent us from possessing a faith that is strong, powerful, and reveals Christ to others.

Let us all pray for the Sainthood of this great man, and that we may emulate the faith and goodwill the saints before us did.
