With back-to-school time upon us, I got to thinking about intercessors for our young ones as they head back into their school routines, whether that be in a brick-and-mortar school or through homeschooling. I have many saints in my prayer arsenal, as I call it, and I suppose that I have my favorites.

Healing the family | Why pray?
Last week, Holy Cross Family Ministries celebrated our annual Healing Mass. We all need healing in one way or another, and we are grateful for those who could attend as well as those who were with us in spirit. You all contribute to making our ministry a beautiful community, where faith and friendship grow. Here is my homily from the event.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to keep my children happy. How to keep them from falling into despair, or from getting so entangled into the world’s false enticements that they start to wonder if there is any way out.

We are all called to holiness, and within the vocation of marriage, we know that we are called to lay down our lives for our families. We discern, on an ongoing basis, how we are called to love and serve and what we should be prioritizing.
