Persistence with God: Family Reflection Video

Persistence with God: Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Holy lives of inspiration

How far are we willing to go to end the suffering of others?

Sometimes I ask myself what we are to believe when we hear bible stories that don’t seem inspirational or realistic. Today, we hear the Israelites were ready to attack a land that wasn’t theirs and that God was approving of this.

The Gospel tells us of the Canaanite woman who humbled herself do fully, she was able to respond to Jesus with great faith. What happens when desperation drives us? Do we prepare to jump into the impossible, or do we humble ourselves and ask Jesus for his help? Our persistence can work wonders in the eyes of the Lord if we have the courage to do so.

Lord, humble our hearts! Let us come to You with our ailments and know You have a plan in place.
