Pray to Jesus for Perseverance: Family Reflection Video

Pray to Jesus for Perseverance: Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Love thy Neighbor

We chose how to live our lives, with or without God.

As a young priest, I used to visit the elderly and they would ask me to pray for their perseverance. I didn’t quite understand at the time what they meant by still meaning to persevere this late in their lives. I later understood they wanted to remain faithful to God. To stay true and committed in their faith.

The people led out of Egypt were doubtful; they complained against God and Moses. When Jesus came along, people complained about him as well. God provided great things to these people, and yet there were always complaints. We must remain committed to what we believe, and pray for perseverance when we feel in doubt.

What do you pray to persevere in? How do you stay committed?

Lord, we pray for perseverance today, bless our families to follow you. Amen.
