Prayer, A Saving Power of God: Family Reflection Video

Prayer, A Saving Power of God: Family Reflection Video

“Fairy tales are more than true, not because they tell us that dragons exist but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten” and contain the classic promise of ‘happily ever after.’ (G. K. Chesterton)

Good people are amazed that harmful thoughts still pop into their minds or that harmful urges can overtake them after a life-time of seeking to do good and avoid evil.

The truth is we are not yet whole, fully human and alive. While dragons may exist in our lives, pulling us every which way, they can be beaten and there is a “happy ever after.” How do we find that ending? By letting God care for us and allowing God to be God instead of expending so much energy trying to be in control.

Family life today is beset with many dragons. Share some of the struggles your family is facing to get to your “happily ever after.” And then pray together that you’ll continue to fight no matter how difficult the battle may be. Remember the importance of family prayer, it is a saving power of God.
