Saint Boniface, Apostle of Germany: Family Reflection Video

Saint Boniface, Apostle of Germany: Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Holy lives of inspiration

Saint Boniface isn’t out to get you, and neither is Jesus.

The men who came to Jesus in today’s reading were using what today we call “Gotcha” Journalism. This is a way of interviewing another person with ways that appear designed to entrap the person so as to damage or discredit them or what they stand for. True believers know the world changes according to God’s will, but unprincipled people spend their time engaging in Gotcha questions.

As Jesus reminds the men what is really important, today we celebrate Saint Boniface, who set out to evangelize northern Germany in the 700s. Saint Boniface had no time for doubters, but spread the message that we are our brothers and sisters’ keeper, all of us have been made in the image and likeness of Christ. Boniface reminded his followers God’s plan guides us and will one day make way for a new heaven and earth.

How can we inspire others to focus on what is truly important? Do we do our best every day to take care of our brothers and sisters?

May our prayer today help us grow in patience, grace, and the knowledge of Christ.
