Saint Martin dePorres: Family Reflection Video

Holy lives of inspiration

Saint Martin followed Jesus’s example…can we?

In today’s reading, Jesus saw a need and responded, while others remained silent. Following this example, Martin dePorres saw people in need of healing and acted. Even though he came from so little, Martin offered what he could to heal those in need of help. His constellation is God’s reminder to us of the challenges we continue to face with race, poverty, and caring for the outcast.

Saint Paul’s letter today brings to light all that we have been gifted with as followers of Jesus. Because we have been gifted we cannot remain silent.

Who have you cared for? How can we care for each other as Saint Martin and Jesus did?

I pray that Saint Martin’s star shines upon you today, and invites us not to remain silent in the face of today’s challenges.
