Saint Rita of Cascia: Family Reflection Video

Saint Rita of Cascia: Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Holy lives of inspiration

Though the trials may hold you back, you never know what could happen if you persist.

The church in my Italian neighborhood growing up has a statue of Saint Rita of Cascia, the patron saint of desperate causes. After many trials and tribulation stopped her from entering religious life, she was eventually accepted and was known as a mystic, counseled lay visitors, and cared for the poor and sick.

Paul and Barnabas face some bumps along their road in making converts, but are able to reach a healthy dialogue between different groups to embrace and deepen their faith. Our holiness will not be measured by how successful we are, but how we respond to the trials we endure.

How have you overcome troubles that have challenged you? Where was the will of God taking you?

Lord, inspire our families to pray together, that we may find our way to you, no matter the troubles that stand in our way.
