What we are witnessing today is no different from what our ancestors in the faith experienced.
A supermarket chain with over 80 stores had to publish a disclaimer saying there were no ghosts floating around their markets. Someone claimed to have seen a ghost, and while some people found the story funny, others did not.
Today, Jesus is confronted by a man who is possessed, but when he drives the demon away, some people say that Jesus must also be possessed if he is able to do such a thing! There may be humor found in a supermarket ghost story, but when Satan takes hold of the minds of the faithful, it is no laughing matter. The Kingdom of God is the firewall to Satan’s destruction; and we know that with God’s help we can reject evil that tries to enter our lives.
How do you stay true to following Jesus?
Lord, we pray that you cast away these evils, banish demons from our lives, and bring our brothers and sisters back to you.
