Speak Lord, Your Servant is Listening: Family Reflection Video

Holy lives of inspiration

Some of the best literature is found in the Bible, we only have to be willing to listen.

There are many layers and interpretations we can take away from the story in today’s first reading about Samuel hearing the voice of God. One interpretation is that God is calling us from sleep and leading us to others to learn how to recognize the voice of God in our lives. It also calls us to reflect on how God is trying to awaken our spirit. Samuel’s response invites us to offer ourselves to God with the simple refrain, “Here I am Lord; I come to do your will.

Have you heard God’s voice lately? Help your family understand the importance of listening and answering God’s call. Pray together that you each can discern the voice of God. Listen to the Catholic Hymn City of God as a family to inspire and awaken your spirit!

May your family follow Samuel’s model and confidently offer yourself to God’s will.
