Learn more about our faith

People join clubs, fraternities and organizations, each with their respective rituals of initiation.

Today we celebrate the baptism of Jesus. Those who approached John the Baptist were seeking repentance for their sins but that was not the case for Jesus. Jesus was without sin. Jesus was inviting us to follow his actions which would allow us to share in the relationship that he had with the Father.

Upon entering a church, we dip our finger into the holy water and bless ourselves, “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” The next time you do this, do it slower and with more intention. Think of your Baptism … and the gifts of Jesus and the Holy Spirt in your life.

May you feel assured each and every day that God is at your side and that we are His beloved sons and daughters.
