The Day After Christmas: Family Reflection Video

The Day After Christmas: Family Reflection Video

Holy lives of inspiration  |  Seasonal Reflections

God’s shepherds today … are us.

It is such a stark shift to commemorate the death of Saint Stephen today, the day after we celebrate the birth of Christ. St. Stephen was stoned to death when he did not renounce his belief in Jesus. There are many more today who face persecution. Bullying, abuse, and mental illness are hurting so many, and a time like Christmas can be a challenge. Being joyful can be a challenge.

We who believe and rejoice in the birth of Christ are uniquely gifted to share the light Jesus brought upon his birth. We are his shepherds of today, and our mission is to share that light with those whom sadness and darkness is a real and daily experience.

Do we reach out to help those under duress? How can we bring light?

Extend our prayers today to those who feel they are suffering alone. May the Lord’s light shine through their darkness.
