Those Who Love Us Will Miss Us: Family Reflection Video

Love thy Neighbor  |  Celebrating family life

We don’t talk about this in the open very much…

I live in a community of religious men that is situated next to the cemetery where members of our congregation are buried. I can look out the window to see where I will be laid to rest, but I know that will not be my final place. Jesus tells us today that he prepares a place for each of us in his Father’s house.

This week, on a late night show, the host asked Keanu Reeves, the actor, “What happens when we die?” Keanu’s answer is so simple and profound, the host stops and nods, as the audience is silent and then cheers. Jesus assures us that we have a place to come to rest, and today I ask that we pray for those who have gone before us.

What do you think happens when we die?
