We Do Not Stand Alone: Family Reflection Video

Return to the Church

Almighty God came as a tiny whispering sound…

Jesus was disliked in his day because the things he said and did unsettled some people or made them angry. Today, once again, Jesus continues to preach, and it still unsettles people. The temptation could be to tune Jesus out or pass over what he has to say.

So many people today find themselves working hard to follow the commandments and Jesus’s teachings, but face opposition and consequently begin to experience personal doubts. This is why prayer is so important … it not only allows us to speak to God, but opens us up to receive tiny messages from him, as Elijah did in the small whispering voice.

How can we try to reach out to others, comfort those who are lonely? Am I myself listening for God’s voice?

In our prayer today, consider lifting up someone we know is feeling lonely, and ask that God may share his voice with them.
