What is Your Image of God? Family Reflection Video

Why pray?

It is difficult to let go of what we were once taught.

When asked what we think our image of God is, answers will vary. Early converts to Christianity found it difficult to let go of what they were once taught about God; that He was unapproachable, surrounded by fire, and gloomy darkness.

There are still many people whose image of God continues to be one of fear and not unconditional love. Jesus worked to spread this love to each and every one of us and showed us this in sending out his disciples. They were approachable, light, and brought healing. Their message was one of love and compassion, lifting depressed spirits up, and inspiring forgiveness. This new way of thinking about God is what inspires us today.

What would you say if you were asked: what is your image of God?

We pray to be worthy messengers today. May we spread God’s love and inspire others to draw closer to him.
