What Motivates People to Follow Christ? Family Reflection Video

It is a timely question, considered across generations.

The mother who seeks Jesus today was not understanding what his kingdom was. Jesus was explaining the suffering and hostility his followers would have to endure to gain entrance, but she thought the end reward was a place of honor next to his throne.

It is an age-old question that asks why people follow Christ, even when it means pain and persecution. People would come to learn that to be a disciple of Christ and to love as he loves requires is to pick up our cross every day. Are we prepared to walk this road with him? Why do you follow Jesus? Why do you lead your family to as well?

Father Leo Polselli, C.S.C. is Chaplain at the Father Peyton Center in Easton, MA. Before coming to Holy Cross Family Ministries he served as a teacher and a parish priest. He also served for six years as a General Assistant of the Congregation in Rome, Italy. Originally from Fall River, MA, Father Leo grew up with eight siblings. Gifted with several languages, he is able to serve the Brazilian, Cape Verdean, Portuguese, Spanish and Haitian communities. When he's not greeting everyone who comes to the Father Peyton Center, you can find him regularly reading newspapers!
