What Would Jesus Say, Do? Family Reflection Video

Why pray?  |  Strengthening family unity

To follow Jesus is to apprentice ourselves to Jesus.

In today’s readings, God commands Moses to tell the people to be holy, for the Lord our God is holy. Isn’t it comforting to know that God sees promise in us to become like him and indeed that’s what each of us is called to be? In the words of our Holy Father Francis, saints have a past, but we sinners have a future.

What must we do to become holy, like God is holy? First, we are told to keep the Commandments. Next, Jesus tells us what we must do to acquire holiness, namely: to do unto others what we would have them do to us, care for others, feed those in need, protect the vulnerable. In a word, follow Jesus and do as Jesus did. When we begin to experience the Christ within us, caring for others will come naturally.

Lord, you trust in us to be holy, as you are. Guide our actions to follow those of Christ.
