Words and Gestures Bring Healing: Family Reflection Video

Healing the family  |  Holy lives of inspiration

God has plans bigger than our hurts and sufferings.

In thinking about the story of Joseph from today’s reading, I think about family members who no longer interact with one another because of past hurts or grudges. Joseph was so overcome with emotion at seeing his brothers who had wronged him, but he also recognized God’s plan in sending him to Egypt and forgives his brothers.

What a magnanimous response! Taking that first step towards forgiveness, realizing God has placed each of us right where we are needed is such a powerful thing in bringing families back together. We are all blessed with different gifts, as Jesus tells the disciples today; and in sharing these gifts, we are doing the work of the Lord.

What do you share with your family?
