Many of us have either experienced personal grief or have witnessed it in the lives of others, and joy was not the emotion which we felt at this time. And yet, Jesus is telling us we will find joy amongst these feelings of grief. How can this be? The answer is simple: when Christ is a part of our life, grief will become joy.
How have you or a loved one handled times of grief? Did you wait for joy to come or become impatient with God?
Joy and peace are given to us when God wishes for us to experience them and when He feels we are ready to accept these gracious gifts of His. We can be certain that if, on occasion, we lose our joy or forget our peace, either there is work to be done to receive these gifts again or God is teaching us to walk in faith. Amen.
