Sadly, family ruptures are pervasive. How can a family bring about a happy ending to their own shattering story?
In today’s reading, a family was broken up by greed. In this story of Joseph and his brothers, one reason it had a happy ending was Joseph’s willingness to forgive. The same is true today. Families need to experience the gifts of grace, love and peace that Jesus provides.
In the Gospel today, Jesus sent out some of his earliest disciples to heal family ruptures – disease, pain and brokenness. It was their mission … and it is our mission too that continues today.
Is there a rupture, estrangement or brokenness in your family today? Pray about ways you can share a message of mercy and forgiveness.
We pray for your family and all families each day here at the Father Peyton Center.
