Brothers and sisters, I’m no healthcare expert, but a minister of the Word and the Sacraments who believes that we have someone to go to during our crisis. Yes, the Lord! He comforts us at this time of great uncertainties caused by COVID-19, as he consoled the Israelites through the prophet Hosea. Hosea encourages and instills hope and invites them to return to the Lord.

In just a few weeks we have moved from people being divided over the seriousness of the coronavirus to accepting that it is a confirmed pandemic. Our Church is being impacted directly, with significant changes in how we celebrate Mass during this Lenten season.

Last night I woke in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back to sleep. Once I got started thinking about the ripple effect of this virus, I was a little too overwhelmed to rest. I’m paying attention, following all the guidelines and making the very best decisions I can for my family. But I needed to settle my worry and my wandering thoughts … and get some sleep
