Today's readings brought me back to one of my first discoveries about healing. Like most kids, I had my share of skinned knees and elbows that were treated by this fluorescent red colored liquid called mercurochrome. These scrapes would heal in about a week, that is, until one trip to the ocean where the saltwater miraculously sped up the process. That was my "aha moment" with the healing properties of salt.
