Shakespeare’s Hamlet says, "the time is out of joint" (Act I, scene 5) expressing his idea that his world is not sane and that things are not as they should be. And he continues with “I was born to set it right!"

What are we to make of Jesus’ words today to love your enemy, pray for those who mistreat you, give to others what they ask of you and to those who take what is yours do not demand it back? We heard a lot of hard sayings including the Golden Rule to do unto others what you would have them do to you.

Our youngest grandchild is starting pre-school. Our oldest grandchild has left home to begin university studies. Life is full of changes. There are times when we have to cope with change and the accompanying turmoil. Transitions throw us off balance; our comfortable and familiar routines give way to the unknown. We are often blessed with helpful people who graciously welcome and guide us along the way.

Return to the Church | Why pray?
There’s a great new film out called Fatima that is a beautiful retelling of the events of the apparitions in Portugal in 1917. It is very realistic and brings alive the historical and social context in which Our Lady appeared to the three shepherd children.
