Celebrating family life | Why pray?
Father Peyton often said that, even though he came from a large poor family, he was rich. His home gave him everything. Because Jesus and Mary were at the center, faith was his family’s foundation. Family prayer, specifically daily prayer of the Rosary, gave him all he needed to become all the Lord made him to be.

On Monday we heard the exchange in Matthew’s Gospel that Jesus had with a young man who asked Jesus about becoming one of his followers. Jesus told him to keep the commandments. The young man said he already did that. What else would he need to do. Jesus said, sell what you have, give to the poor and come follow me.
