Seasonal Reflections | Strengthening family unity
With the coronavirus affair driving things so fast and furiously, we need to stay grounded and rooted, particularly in this season of Lent. I hope you all are finding ways to do that! Come back to peace. Find wisdom! Today I did something that always helps me: a visit to places in what has been my second home since I was 10 years old, Centerville, on Cape Cod, about an hour from where I live.

Normally, by the time Lent starts, I have a clear idea of the sacrifices I will observe and the prayer practices I will adopt. This year, for some reason, I drew a blank as Lent approached.

Return to the Church | Strengthening family unity
Brothers and sisters, I’m no healthcare expert, but a minister of the Word and the Sacraments who believes that we have someone to go to during our crisis. Yes, the Lord! He comforts us at this time of great uncertainties caused by COVID-19, as he consoled the Israelites through the prophet Hosea. Hosea encourages and instills hope and invites them to return to the Lord.

Cardinal O’Malley yesterday, asked us all to keep devotional visits to churches during the daytime while honoring government directives to not assemble in groups of 10 or more.
