The first half of Lent was a call to holiness. By now we realize we cannot do it on our own!

Well, we’re at that time of year. Some of you are singing and dancing in a way that reminds other folks of December. I’m not one of those people. I’m one of the people who used to say things like “I love Lent,” but I’ve repented of it.

The truth is, Christians can change their outer actions through spiritual discipline but they cannot transform their inner spirits so they can say with St. Paul, “No longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me.”
