Reflections of Family and Faith
"The family that prays together stays together." - Venerable Patrick Peyton
Venerable Patrick Peyton’s message of family prayer has helped millions of families find their way through life - with all its challenges – on the road to eternal life! We are contemplating key foundations, “charisms” of the spirituality that he learned in his Religious Order, the Congregation of Holy Cross. The second Holy Cross charism is Unity, in the Holy Trinity and mirrored in the Holy Family. Today I want to focus on the triune God.

The human family is being led now, and being called to something! An understandable question would be, “If God is good and all powerful, why doesn’t He just stop this horrible virus?” An honest and searching response takes us to understand the mystery and the wonder of life itself that we discover especially at times of great trial!

Today we begin a ten-week series we are offering to our World at Prayer Blog community. Written by our own Father Jim Phalan, C.S.C., he explains the charisms of the Congregation of Holy Cross and how each and every one of us can grow closer to God by living them each and every day. We know you will find them enriching, particularly during this stressful time.
