This Thanksgiving, can we give a gift of thanks?

Dear Friends: Many people trace the American Thanksgiving back to the Pilgrims sitting down to Turkey and Cranberry Dinner with the Native American Wampanoag nation in Plymouth, MA in 1620. However, the official observance of Thanksgiving stemmed from a mandate from one of America’s greatest leaders and presidents, Abraham Lincoln. He reminds us of the True Source of blessing and healing. He decreed this holiday during the worst crisis in American history, in the darkest days of the Civil War.

I had one of those interesting conversations with my sister as I visited her home on Sunday and shared a bowl of soup. We catch up on the latest although the latest is usually about her weekly visit to the hairdresser, her son’s days at a group home and local happenings.
