Feeling the pressure of creating a 'perfect' Christmas day with all its trimmings, we often overlook the importance of celebrating Advent! The Snap Advent Photo Challenge, created by my late friend, Laure Lynch, and me in 2014, seemed the perfect way to help us focus our attention on seasonal words that kept us grounded in Advent. Over fifteen years ago, a friend invited me to Rosary and Mass at The Father Peyton Center in North Easton, Massachusetts. En route, she recounted the remarkable life of a holy man, devoted to the Blessed Mother, with an almost single-minded desire to help families pray together, especially the Rosary. It would be the first time I heard the message of Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., "The family that prays together stays together."

In the early days of the pandemic confinement, I ordered a playground ball. While temperatures outside began to warm and my children were stuck learning behind screens for long hours each day, I dug around the mudroom for chalk and waited on the playground ball to arrive. A Four-Square ball, to be exact.
